Informazioni sul corso
Descrizione
A multidisciplinary and advanced technology course
You will enter the world of advanced experimental design thanks to a multidisciplinary approach to the languages of the present, with the aim of applying the acquired skills in different professional fields: from the creation of VFX for cinema to the development of virtual sets for television, from stage design for large events to the hybridisation of design with new technological tools, including multiple forms of expression and practices such as interactive installations, live performances, virtual and augmented reality, and sound experimentation related to the contemporary artistic world.
Multimedia works designed around the spectator
The Master of Arts in Multimedia Arts and Design – one of the pioneers of multimedia research and studies in central and southern Italy – is characterised by its transdisciplinary approach, based on the awareness that media and new digital technologies have assumed an increasingly predominant role within the contemporary creative paradigm. This is a broad field of intervention that spans multiple disciplines, concerning not only the design of installations and setups for large cultural events and curatorial projects for public and private spaces, but also aesthetic experimentation connected to artificial intelligence and robotics.
The course provides an excellent educational response to the growing demand for designers, combining a solid theoretical-critical foundation in new technologies with the technical expertise of multimedia professionals.
A complete design process
Within the development process, both in indoor and outdoor contexts, the course provides students with the necessary tools to identify the right approach to multimedia, in relation to the functional and aesthetic requirements of each project.
From a practical and workshop perspective, students will deepen their knowledge of innovative design software, exploring the expressive possibilities offered by advanced media. The teachings cover, among others, multimedia space design, audiovisual performance and sound installations, exhibit design, virtual set design, virtual and augmented reality, artificial intelligence and robotics, multimedia direction, and a critical approach to contemporary art in relation to new media.
Career prospects for the future
The course aims to train highly specialised professionals capable of actively participating in the contemporary creative industry, thanks to partnerships with prestigious national and international institutions.
Graduates will be prepared to apply their skills in contexts requiring a critical approach to new technologies, from institutional to underground settings. They will be able to create installations and multimodal spaces, interactive, sound and immersive environments, audiovisual performances, virtual scenographies, videomapping, virtual and augmented reality works, and much more.
The main objective is to meet the demands of the new artistic and cultural context, fostering experimental research and the creation of hybrid professional profiles such as multimedia artists, event and festival designers, museum and exhibition curators specialised in new media, and multimedia communication experts.
The Academic Master of Arts is equivalent to a University Master's Degree.
